The Caius is entry-level reel for anglers new to baitcasting. Offering fantastic Shimano value, this versatile reel is very easy to use and will cast lures in the 10-60g range. Perfect for all predators from small perch up to large pike, the Caius enables anglers of all abilities to experience Shimano Baitcasting technology at a fantastic price.
If you are new to baitcasting, working with a small budget or want a cost effective second reel, you’ll be delighted with the performance you experience when using the Caius. Available in both left and right-hand versions, the 150 size is easy to use and ideal for all round freshwater baitcasting situations using lures in the 10g to 60g range. Combining the finesse to fish effectively for smaller predators using small lures, with the strength to overcome larger powerful predators like big pike, the Caius is a reel that will improve your fishing performance and enjoyment in equal measures.
The body of the Caius is built from Shimano’s lightweight XT-7 composite, which is tough enough to overcome accidental knocks and bumps without adding excess weight. Equally important is the lightweight spool which is crafted from the same high quality aluminium used on much more expensive Shimano models. For inexperienced casters the VBS breaking system has an upgraded 6 pin design to help prevent over-runs and mishaps.
